I am no mechanic so if I can start a small engine, so can you.
A properly tuned snow blower should start easily. At times, the blower can run rough or stall. Before you tear your snow blower apart, try adjusting the main jet (either by turning it clockwise or counterclockwise) underneath the carburetor bowl. When the carburetor is set to too lean, it makes it hard to start.
If it fails to start the first time you try to use it, drain the old gas from the bowl by pressing the spring loaded screw next to the main jet. Make sure you catch the old fuel with a container. Fresh fuel would make it easier to start.
Hot starting problem can be caused by flooding or vapor lock or a carburetor set to too lean. You can wait for it to cool, or you can pull the spark plug and dry the electrode. Reinsert and start again.
Do the above before you disassemble the carburetor for cleaning or other more complicated repairs.
