The idea of the quantum jump is explained in this diagram. We have the ground state and the excited state of an atom. If light comes in contact with the electron probability cloud that surrounds the atom. What happens is the atom goes from the ground state to the excited state and it does this instantaneously and that's what we call the quantum jump. It is an instantaneous jump from one place to another or from one state to another and then what could happen at a later time is the emission of a new photon and the atom comes back down to the ground state. The important thing about this is that it's totally random. It is part of what is known as a photon electron coupling or dipole moment There has never been an objective understanding of what the quantum jump represents that fits in with the reality of our everyday live. And this is very odd because this process is continuously happening all around us with the spontaneous absorption and emission of photon energy. These videos explain an emergent process with the future unfolding photon by photon with each quantum jump representing a new moment in time and space. With the Universe explained as a continuum based on a process of continuous energy exchange or continuous creation. Just like the notes in a beautiful piece of music over a period of time will form sound waves of the music itself.
The particle wave duality of quantum theory will form a kind of dance of creation of continuous change that we can interact with turning the possible into the actual! We are particles only in the moment of now in the centre of our own reference frame and waves of continuous change over a period of time. Because we are made of atoms the individual can choose when and where to come in contact and interact with the reality of particle wave duality. This gives us free-will to create our own future in the form of art, poetry or even electronics relative to the flow of the EM spectrum and the atoms of the periodic table. In this theory the flow of electrical activity in the brain is the most advanced part of this universal process and therefore we can see and feel this process as the flow of time with a future that is always random and a past we can never change. It is because we are all in the centre of our own reference frame that we have the concept of ‘mind’ with each one of us having our own personal view of the Universe. For each individual only the moment of now is real with the human eye interacting with the particle wave duality of light just like any other object, so creation is truly in the eye of the beholder in this theory!
