DigInfo: http://movie.diginfo.tv - NiCT displayed their ITS system at Wireless Technology Park at Pacifico Yokohama. Your parents always told you to look both ways before crossing the street but you can't see everything so To prevent those types of accidents the people at Nict are planning to lay LF antennas along the road which send messages through a repeater to cars that pedestrians or bikes are about to cross the road. A car receives the message when it is within 100 meters of the strip and is told the velocity of person whether they are on foot, a bike or in a wheelchair since the tag is coded for specfic IDs. Even with these IDs personal information isn't at risk. Now the ID tag is large and inconvenient but in the future more convenient models will be made similar to train passes or smaller and attached right to your bike or wheelchair.
