Thika's Section 9 residents say 2 MCAs leading attempts to grab prime land

Residents of Section 9 Estate in Thika town Kiambu county, are complaining about alleged land grabbing by two sitting Kiambu MCAs. The residents say the MCAs have targeted a prime plot that has drawn the attention of many land grabbers but all their attempts have been futile. The land is said to have been renovated by the Lions club in the 1970's and converted to a playground for children and other recreational facilities. Speaking to the press on the disputed land, the residents expressed their disappointment with the two MCAs . They alleged that, about two or three weeks ago, the two leaders came in the company of several senior county government officials and performed what was assumed to be surveying the ground.When residents enquired what the visit was for,the response was that there were plans to put the land to better use. The residents now say that any attempt to grab the 1-acre piece of land will face strong resistance.
