So, what we are doing here is constructing a transducer and using it to drive a membrane. The transducer construction isn't particularly important but impedance matching, in this case, is. In order for a small transducer to drive a heavy membrane we need to supply it with quite a lot of power and this will be beyond a stereo amplifier without proper impedance matching.
