A visual line tracking system combines an eye movement tracking system with a head-mounted camera, creating a system which records the general area where a person is looking as well as specific objects within their field of vision. View Tracker is a visual line tracking system developed by DITECT capable of storing visual line data digitally. 

The movement of the eye of an individual can serve as an indicator of the individual's subconscious.  Eye tracking analysis is especially appropriate for conducting psychological research by observing individuals in a variety of situations.  Research results could be applied to marketing, training simulations or in the medical industry.

View Tracker is a portable, battery powered system that one person can easily operate to collect a large amount of eye tracking data samples.  DITECT has simplified calibration operation, and this makes it possible to conduct tracking analysis more smoothly.  The head mount employs a half mirror so that measurements can be taken from the front without any obstruction of the user's visual field.  The system's infrared LED switch control helps to minimize any burden on the eyes. 

The system's special software enables the operator to carry out various statistical processing operations using the tracking data acquired in real time.  By creating a video of superimposed visual line images, it's possible to create trajectory images differentiating ambulatory movements, directional movements, and head movements.  As the system uses a universal file format to store images, values, and other data, it's easy to transfer the data to presentation and spreadsheet software applications.
