Just hours after Donald Trump said he would order his troops home from Syria, the U.S. president is now looking at a partial withdrawal from Afghanistan. Media reports, quoting unnamed U.S. officials, said more than a third of the 14,000 American troops stationed in the central Asian nation may be pulled out. Both withdrawals have drawn condemnation from some of Trump's political enemies. And it seems Trump's defense chief Jim Mattis may also disagree with the policy.
