Using leather based decorations at home is a nice way of adding natural elements to your interiors. In this video, Marcella Echavarria from SurEvolution shares her experience of working with leather made artifacts. By using the leftover leather from other industries, Marcella and her team of experienced craftsmen create various leather based artifacts. One of them being the highly attractive decorative item----the leather leaves. The leather leaves are handmade in Columbia. According to Marcella, these leather leaves are created by using traditional handmade techniques. Marcella's craftsmen include ex-combatants, who are trained to create these masterpieces using age old and environment- friendly techniques. One of the master artisans at SurEvolution; Cesar Giraldo, explains the process of creating leather. According to him, this art is largely non-technical and purely employs the traditional handmade methods. To make leather leaves and other leather based artifacts, a special kind of leather is used that can be molded into various shapes.
