Shreyas Iyer's fierce assault on KKR left the host team shocked
The newly-appointed Delhi Daredevils captain blasted 93 off 40 balls
This is the highest score by any player on captaincy debut in the history of IPL
The whirlwind knock powered Delhi to 219 for four
The world were full of praise for the 23-year-old
Iyer replaced Gambhir as captain of DD after relinquishing his post, following a poor start to the campaign
Gambhir was left out of playing XI for the home match against KKR
Unlike previous matches, DD had a great start
Young Prithvi Shaw and Colin Munro opened the batting
The duo added 59 runs for the first wicket before Munro fell to Shivam Mavi
Shaw was joined by Iyer and the duo strung together a 68-run stand for the second wicket
Iyer smashed Mavi's final over producing the most expensive over of this season
KKR made a feeble attempt to overhaul the target but were always chasing shadows after losing their top four batsmen
DD bowlers helped the Delhi franchise register a 55-run win
This is their second win in seven matches this season
