Uchida Yoko has developed a display system that uses video and audio to explain product information when a product with an IC tag is scanned by a reader located on the right and left of the display stand. 
The system, called "Ginmi", uses a computer to recognize a combination of IC tags and then provides the product description that corresponds to those IC tags. 
Customers can obtain product information at the store even when a sales clerk is not available to explain the product. 
In addition, at consumer electronics retailers and other stores, customers can compare the products that they like such as digital cameras by placing those products on the display stand. 
Another merit of the system is that store personnel can analyze what products are of most interest to customers by reviewing the search history of customers.
