Today we take the tender to visit the beaches of Koh Samui, Thailand! The Legend of the Seas sets sail from Harbourfront, Singapore, on a 5N cruise to Koh Samui and Laem Chabang in Thailand. The Legend of the Seas is a Vision class ship, with a gross tonnage of 69,130GT. She is currently the smallest ship in the current Royal Caribbean fleet, even smaller than the Majesty of the Seas (73,941GT). The Legend of the Seas has been in service since 1995 and was the first Royal Caribbean ship to be deployed to Asia. It can be said that the Legend of the Seas brought Royal Caribbean sailing to Asia! The ship was last retrofitted (extensive dry-dock) in March 2013, in a Singapore dry dock costing an estimated US$50Mil. The Legend can carry up to 2,000 passengers. On this 5N sailing, 1,100 of the 1,800 passengers were from Singapore. The 2013 retrofit was very extensive and gave the Legend of the Seas many new features and speciality restaurants. The Park Café was introduced. http://guitar123foodandtravel.blogspot.sg/2013/12/park-cafe-pictures-legend-of-seas-royal.html The Diamond Club (for Crown and Anchor Diamond and above members) http://guitar123foodandtravel.blogspot.sg/2013/09/diamond-club-lounge-royal-caribbean.html Speciality restaurants introduced included Chops Grille http://guitar123foodandtravel.blogspot.sg/2013/09/chops-grille-legend-of-seas-royal.html Chef's Table http://guitar123foodandtravel.blogspot.sg/2013/09/chefs-table-legend-of-seas-royal.html Izumi Japanese inspired Restaurant http://guitar123foodandtravel.blogspot.sg/2013/09/izumi-speciality-restaurant-royal.html Follow the exciting journey!
