http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com The medieval town of Annecy is only 80 km/50 miles from Chamonix and 45 km/28 miles from Geneva, Switzerland. The first sight of Annecy's old quarter completely knocked us off our feet. Le Thiou River running through it. Old houses. People eating ice cream, sitting at outdoor tables, eating luscious food surrounded by such charm. With five days in Annecy, there would be more than enough to occupy ourselves. Instead, give us food! Absolutely starving after a long frustrating day of travel from Chamonix that included the albeit pleasant and unexpected time in St. Gervais-Le Fayet.
