4AM-Just after 11:30 p.m. Friday Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a home on Suzanne at Plaster Circle in far north Montgomery County.  The caller reported that a white male had entered their property in a pick up and an verbal altercation took place between her husband and the male who drove up. The yet unidentified male who was approximately 40-years-of age pulled an ax from his vehicle. Feeling threatened the homeowner who was there with his wife and several children under the age of 10 produced a gun and shot the suspect at least two times.

MCHD and North Montgomery County Fire Department responded to the scene. PHI Air Medical was requested to the scene but was unable to fly to to low ceilings. Life Flight also turned down the flight.

The male was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. 

Detectives, crime scene and members of the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office remained on the scene most of the night gathering witness statements and investigating the shooting. 

Charges are pending at this time as the investigation continues. 

No names are being released until later this morning.
