(8 Oct 2018) Relatives of Matthews Coons and Amanda Halse are devastated following their deaths in a weekend crash in upstate New York. The two were killed along with 18 other people when a limousine they were riding in lost control on Saturday. The crash was characterized by authorities as the deadliest U.S. transportation accident in nearly a decade. Karina Halse, Amanda's sister, described the victim as a "peacekeeper" and "happy," telling the Associated Press that her heart "is sunken." Matthew Coons' aunt, Suzanne Douglass said her nephew was the kind of person who make people "laugh so hard you would be crying." Relatives said the limousine was carrying a group of four sisters and their friends to a 30th birthday celebration.
