Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak and react more on social issues. It will not be out of context to recall that then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi had been asking Dr. Singh to speak more when he was the Prime Minister. Singh in an interview to The Indian Express said "I think the Prime Minister should follow his own advice to me and he should speak more often. I know that he used to criticise me for not speaking up. I feel that the advice that he used to give me, he should follow it himself." This may not be acceptable to BJP and will find it hard to eschew but fact is PM Modi took quite a long time to react to Unnao and Kathua gangrapes. However, Dr. Singh has also complimented PM Modi by saying that he was glad that the PM broke his silence and assured that "daughters of India" will get justice.
