Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, otherwise known as Shiites, have called Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to ensure immediate release of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and some other members of the sect. Protesters marched through the streets of FCT chanting songs asking for the immediate release of their incarcerated leader, noting that El-zakzaky and his wife have been in detention without charge for 600 days. Protesting the alleged illegal detention of their leader at the headquarters of the National Human Right Commission, Spokesperson for the group Ibrahim Musa said that the case of the continued detention of their leader and his wife is the worst form of human rights violation in history. The group reiterated their call for the Federal Government to release their leader and his wife, as ordered by the Federal High Court, Abuja.
