PM Joins Thousands For Tahlil, Solat Hajat

Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad joined thousands of Muslims to perform Friday prayers and the solat hajat following the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreak. The prayers were led by the Putra mosque's Imam, Shamsul Bahari Dahlan in Putrajaya. Also present were Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister, Salahuddin Ayub, Education Minister, Dr Maszlee Malik and Economic Affairs Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali. Yesterday, the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), called on Muslims to perform the hajat prayer after Friday prayers to pray that the HFMD outbreak ends soon as well as for the wellbeing of Malaysia in conjunction with Merdeka month.
