Meet a critically endangered big cat, the Amur Leopard. This subspecies of leopard lives in the southeastern area of Russia that borders with China. Since their wild populations are so low, there is a plan to re-introduce leopards using the best candidates from the managed zoo populations. Reintroduction of any species is a tricky thing to do, let alone when they species is a top predator. Predators are an important part of an eco-system as they help keep things in balance. Of course the leopard itself also has to worry about a larger feline which is the Amur Tiger, which is another cat that needs our help.
