Commonly known as Ihatov, Oohasama City in Iwate Prefecture is an ideal location for wine production.

Edelwein is a winery that produces unique tasting wines from grapes grown in that area.

Edelwein was the recipient of a best in category award in an international wine competition last year and was also the winner of a silver medal at the Austrian Wine Challenge (AWC).

Edelwein cooperates with grape growers in the production of their wines, and the wines are never mass produced.

Iwate is located in northern Japan and the seasonal changes there add to the refreshing taste of its wines.
