Ventura: Robber Shoots Smoke Shop Clerk

11.02.2018 | 11:29 PM | VENTURA - A smoke shop clerk was shot by robber who then fled the scene with an accomplice, late Friday night. Officers responded shortly before 11:30 PM to reports of a shooting at Sam's Smoke Shop located in the 800 block of East Main Street. Units arriving on scene found that the store clerk had been shot in the face. Further investigation revealed that two suspects had been attempting to rob the store when one of the assailants opened fire. Both suspects later fled. Firefighter paramedics treated the store clerk on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in unknown condition. The Ventura Police Department is investigating the incident.
