Katherine Heigl steps out at the 2012 AFI Life Achievement Awards looking unbelievably beautiful. 

Heigl was one of the presenters of the night giving out awards to some of the biggest names in Hollywood, like Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts and let me tell you—she upped her fashion game for the occasion. 

The A-Lister herself rocked a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown that hugged the star in all the right places. Although black can often times be a little drab—the way this star rocked the hue was nothing of the sort. 

The thigh high slit proved to be the perfect touch of sexiness and she kept her Angie pose to a minimum keeping all eyes on the whole ensemble instead of an awkward pose. 

I love the detailing on the dress with the metallic shoulders and strip right around the hip. It added such an extra element to the black frock and the shiny material is right on trend. 

For accessories, Heigl carried a Judith Leiber clutch and kept the jewelry minimum with just a few rings and simple small hoop earrings! 

For makeup, Katherine was spot on with a pink lip that gave the ensemble a pop of color and eye makeup that proved to be a touch more dramatic than normal but perfect for the occasion. 

She kept her blonde locks a little on the messy side pulled back into a voluminous up do that proved to be the a great style—and more or less one that we're used to seeing on Heigl. 

And last but not least, her shoes—Katherine sported some awesome metallic strappy heels that really finished off the look with perfection!
