Tropical Depression 01W (named Sonamu by the JMA and Auring by PAGASA) has become the first western Pacific storm of the 2013 season - it certainly didn't take long.
The storm is currently delivering gusty winds and heavy rain to the Philippines, more specifically Palawan island, and is expected to move towards Malaysia before dissipating in a few days.
