Three variations on a basic design comprised of a square junk wall courtyard and a 1x1 tower capable of firing over the walls while also serving as a player home in survival. There is also room for water, crops, crafting stations, and enough beds for a few settlers. The first one is only 2x2 and is pretty simple and bare. It's just enough to get by. The entrance is guarded by wooden spikes to slow down attackers. The next is a 4x3 square fort. The design becomes a little more complex. The courtyard becomes rectangular to accommodate the longer stairs. The tower is taller to compensate for the junk walls. The outer perimeter is extended with wood spikes and tires to eliminate blind spots. The entrance is also guarded with a narrow passage of barbed wire capable of blocking super mutants. This design also features a small machine gun nest and a "kill box" entrance. The final fortification is a large 5x5 square. It has an enlarged kill box and full size machine gun nest. There is also ample space for guard posts, a full size bunk house, latrine, and everything featured in the previous two designs. I build these as an experiment, to test the limits of the design. It's hard to make it any smaller than this, and making it any bigger, just starts to look silly. They were absolutely a joy to build, and the design is so fun to fool around with, I still want to build more of them.
