Thousands of children of all ages watch in awe as Santa flies in by helicopter for the Christmas tree lighting in Delray Beach, Florida. The lighting of the 100 foot tree (made of steel rings to withstand the FL heat) took place at Old School Square while experts assembled ice carvings (that drip-drip-dripped with temperatures in the 70s), families ate smores from a fire pit in the middle of Atlantic Ave, and bands played holiday hits on every corner. Thank you to the City of Delray, Downtown Development Authority and other groups and volunteers for yet another spectacular even in the Village by the Sea! If you don't know Delray Beach, you don't know Florida.
