But with the US President Donald Trump announcing a withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, many believe it could be the very beginning of a new arms race. Security scholars worldwide are concerned, including Niklas Swanstrom, the director and co-founder of the Institute for Security and Development Policy from Sweden.
