Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, is calling on the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association, Lynsley Doodhai, to substantiate claims he made last Friday. Mr. Doodai claimed that police were at schools gathering information on teachers who stayed away from classes to "rest and reflect." Mr. Griffith is calling on TTUTA to provide the names of officers, or the license plates of patrol vehicles to back up the claims. In a release on Monday, the Commissioner denied all claims, saying no instruction was issued for officers to gather any information on teachers.
