Fourth teen arrested for threats to Ryle High School

UNION, Ky. (WKRC) - A fourth teenager was arrested Tuesday for making threats toward Ryle high school.

A 17-year-old girl is also charged with terroristic threatening after three other teens were accused of making similar threats.

The girl's mother called Boone County deputies saying that her daughter, a student at Ryle, got a threat on Snapchat. Deputies found out that the girl actually made the post because she didn't want to go to school.

They say she tried to run, but they quickly caught her.

The high school released this statement Tuesday night:

There was a fourth threat directed towards Ryle High school this evening. The Boone County Sheriff's Department has taken the individual responsible for the threat into custody. Once again, we would like to thank the Boone County Sheriff's Department for the assistance with these threats. We will continue to work with the sheriff's department to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Ryle will operate on a normal schedule and we will have additional staff and law enforcement at Ryle tomorrow. 
Once again, we want to stress the importance of parents using this opportunity to have a discussion with their students about social media and the repercussions of posts of a threatening nature. The school district and law enforcement take this matter very seriously and appropriate discipline will follow. "
