Speaker: Andy Konwinski Abstract: Deploylib is an open source library that provides powerful abstractions for interfacing with the cluster/datacenter. Deploylib is a Domain Specific Language extending the Scala language, and can be used in two primary modes. First as a low-level wrapper for SSH it allows you to manipulate nodes in your own private cluster or on EC2, e.g. starting and stopping services, deploying and synchronizing files, accessing or manipulating node configuration via files or daemon interfaces such as http. Second, it provides high level abstractions for running or updating complex combinations of cluster services, such as running interdependent Mesos applications. To demonstrate the power and flexibility of this second usage mode of Deploylib, we have implemented high level functions such as runDemo() that you can run from the deploylib command line console that will run the entire Radlab stack with a single command. See the github demo documentation for instructions on how you can use Deploylib to run a version of the RAD Lab demo for yourself on EC2 with (we hope!) very little pain.
