Families camped out in the cold, smoky conditions overnight to get a turkey and groceries from the Sacramento Food Bank. Thanks to the community's generosity during last week's KCRA Turkey Drive, more than 16,000 turkeys will be given to families in Sacramento County. The Sacramento Food Bank is urging families to show up between 8 a.m. and noon. Organizers are especially worried about the elderly and children waiting in lines that always stretch up to 12 city blocks. Everyone who wants a turkey will get one, along with two big bags of groceries. Despite the long wait, families were in line with a smile Monday, saying they count on the turkey distribution every year.
