Pie Crust (10" pie) Please note: In this video I doubled the recipe because I was making a 2 crust pie (top and bottom) the recipe below is for a 1 crust pie shell. 1 plus 1/3 cup flour, sifted 1/2 tsp. salt 1 plus 1/2 TB. sugar 1/4 cup chilled butter 1/4 cup shortening 3-4 TBs. ice water 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1. Combine the sugar and salt with the flour. 2. Cut in the butter and shortening. 3. Add the vanilla to the ice water and and add this to the flour mixture a TBs. at a time and bring it together using a fork. May use a mixer, but do not over mix. Just mix until the dough comes together. 5. Form the dough into a ball and refrigerate for 1/2 hour. 6.
