IEC wants more time to finalise voters roll: Terry Tselane

The Independent Electoral Commission has this week asked the constitutional court for another extension as it seeks to find out where South African voters live. Once a new deadline runs out, the voters roll will be invalid because the IEC has not verified the addresses of all voters. The IEC says it needs more than another year to gather all the addresses. That will be too late for the elections, so it wants the constitutional court to again suspend the invalidity of the voters roll, to avoid having the outcomes of next year's general elections being taken to court.
