Typhoon Son-Tinh peaked as a high-end Category 3 storm yesterday, but has now weakened to a Category 2 storm due to land interaction as it bears down on Vietnam. The storm is just offshore the coast, and is expected to make landfall in a matter of hours before curving back round to an eastward heading over land. This means that flood damage in particular is likely, as well as wind damage to the landfall area as the storm still bears 105mph winds with it. The storm has already killed 27 in the Philippines, and caused over a million dollars' worth of damage.
