True-to-life indie romance charting the highs and lows of a long-distance relationship. It's love at first sight when sensitive students Anna (Felicity Jones) and Jacob (Anton Yelchin) meet in LA. But there's a problem. Unwilling to be parted from Jacob, English undergraduate Anna overstays her visa. After visiting her parents (Alex Kingston, Oliver Muirhead), she finds herself refused re-entry to the US and deported. Will the couple's romance survive enforced separation over the ensuing years? Fault lines quickly emerge. Furniture maker Jacob seems to be getting close to his blonde assistant Sam (Jennifer Lawrence). And he begins to suspect that journalist Anna and her neighbour Simon (Charlie Bewley) may be more than best friends. A bittersweet romance exploring the trials and tribulations of young love, the film's authentic dialogue was largely improvised. Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin give fresh, heartfelt performances with able support from The Twilight Saga's Charlie Bewley and Jennifer Lawrence from 'Winter's Bone'.
