Southern FL Isolated thunderstorms may develop by this afternoon along/ahead of a cold front across portions of the southern FL Peninsula. Even though there will be some modestly enhanced mid-level southwesterly flow over this region, poor mid-level lapse rates will likely limit updraft strength. With large-scale forcing for ascent associated with the upper low over the TN Valley and Mid-Atlantic remaining displaced well to the north, severe thunderstorms appear unlikely. Elsewhere across the continental U.S., sunny to partly cloudy conditions are expected from the Rockies to the Mississippi River as an expansive high pressure ridge governs the weather pattern through the weekend. Overall, temperatures are expected to be near to above average for the majority of the continental U.S. through Monday morning with no major incursions of arctic air masses expected.
