Video diploma for Bhiatailidh Negoda MacDhùghaill, known to most of you as Vitaliy Negoda MacDougall of Krasnodar, Russia. Vitaliy has been a member of our Apprenticeship Program since its inception in August, 2008. Recently he came to visit and train with us in Maine, as well as to test for mentor certification in the Regimental Broadsword style, the Kerr-Fisted Style, and our Seven Words course on bouting strategy. Vitaliy fought certification bouts with Chinese-style swordsman Elmo Mackay (also a Broadsword Academy member) and Combined Combatives instructor Al Giusto, who brought his butterfly swords to the challenge. To pass the Seven Words course and be certified to teach bouting strategy, Vitaliy fought more than 33 broadsword bouts with Christopher Scott Thompson, Matt Park and Elmo MacKay, in which he had to demonstrate the ability to effectively use all Seven Words. There are some great moments in the bouts you'll see on this video, as Vitaliy's personal fighting style can be raw and aggressive- when Vitaliy seizes the initiative, he doesn't let it go until the opponent is down! Vitaliy will be the instructor of our new official branch school (previously a study group), the MacDougall Broadsword Academy, also known as the Clann MhicDhùghaill Sgoil Iomairt Airm Gàidhlig Krasnodar.
