Last month the Department of Home Affairs announced its campaign called "war on queues". Among other things highlighted, the minister promised zero tolerance on poor management and performance in the department. While the department continues to update its systems and services, which have become very modern and automated, stories of corruption and inefficacy by staff continue, particularly at the border posts where people experience bad service and extortion.
