LA Times - A 24-year-old motorist was killed early Saturday after he apparently lost control of his speeding car and crashed into a telephone pole in South Los Angeles, the California Highway Patrol said.
Oscar Perez died in the crash about 12:30 a.m. near the corner of Alameda and 83rd streets, according to a CHP report. His car, a 2000 Ford, was traveling "at a very high rate of speed," made an unsafe turn and spun out of control until it struck the pole. Perez, who was alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is investigating the crash. LOUDLABS NEWS
