Portland & Western's train number 664 begins its 12-hour slog between Tigard and Salem in steady drizzle on the evening of February 24th, 2016. Lead by 2306, 2304, 3007 and 2307, the combined 9,900 horsepower of the four units struggles to get the massive 8,200-ton, 63-car train up the 1.5% grade coming south out of Tualatin. I know this video quality is pretty poor. It was posted mostly for the sound which I highly recommend listening to with a good set of speakers and a subwoofer, if you can manage it.
