There are different walking/hiking options once you are finally at the top.  You can head uphill past the Gongga Shan worship point, head in the direction of Glaciers 2 and 3, or downhill (then uphill) to Glacier 1 for better viewing.  There is also a forest path down to the Hot Springs at Camp #2 which is where we were heading next.
 And tons of food stalls.

It would have been a more interesting experience to visit in the dry season to take advantage of the hikes.  July and August is rainy season and Hailuogou was only included in this itinerary because of proximity.  If you've seen glaciers before, don't bother...
