Leaving a world devoid of wildlife in the oceans in that will bathed in chaos and uncertainty is not most people's idea of proud legacy, but that is the trajectory human beings are now on in the case of fishing the oceans dry of marine life. 

Tuna are nearly extinct, sharks are being slaughtered to the tune of 100 million annually for their fins to make soup, whales are still hunted for Soup for Japanese consumers despite international bans, coral reefs are dying or being reduced to dust by industrial or illegal fishing never to return for thousands of years, feeder fish are being fished out to feed salmon farms and this has decimated some once vital fishing grounds and made them polluted nightmares. The end is near for the oceans if something is not done.
