Song goes from 0:30-3:40. Details below lyrics ------------------------------------------------- Our little planet's made of Water and stone A speck in space, spinning All alone So we ask ourselves What's the meaning of it all? But I ask myself Why must there be Meaning at all? Where do we come from? Why do we die? Is there somewhere out beyond The infinite sky? So we ask ourselves What's the meaning of it all? But I ask myself Why must there be Meaning at all? ------------------------------------- Long time followers of my channel will probably notice that divinity has been a recurring theme in my music, be it imaging the bliss of surrender or the struggles to connect. I've recently come to the conclusion that I no longer have a need for that concept. For some, a lack of cosmic significance may be frightening, but I've found it to be paradoxically liberating and empowering. The universe is no less mysterious and majestic, only now I can appreciate it without the weight of expectation. I didn't plan on writing a song about this, it simply emerged out of my contemplation. Frankly, even afterward, I immediately set it aside thinking it was another in a long line of ideas that marked a moment in time but not much more. I only picked it up again because I was struggling with another project and needed something to clear my head... but I have to admit to being pleasantly surprised with how it came out. Hopefully you agree. Considering the subject matter, I felt it appropriate to pay homage to the great Carl Sagan. Thanks for listening. I hope you and yours are well.
