Dennis Hof, Owner of the Famed Bunny Ranch Brothel, Dies at the Age of 72: REPORT

Nevada authorities confirmed Wednesday that they're investigating allegations of sexual assault against a legal pimp and state legislative candidate.

The Nevada Department of Public Safety said it was investigating Dennis Hof because of a request from the sheriff's office in northern Nevada's Carson City, where Hof owns several legal brothels.

DPS spokeswoman Kim Smith declined to provide additional details.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said Wednesday night that his office responded after a woman at a hospital made a complaint that Hof had raped her sometime over the weekend. He declined to say whether the woman worked for Hof at one of his brothels, citing a desire to protect the woman's privacy.

Furlong said that because Hof is a political candidate and there's a contentious battle over brothels in his neighboring county, "we just felt it was better if it was handled by the state."

Hof, who is running as a Republican this year for a state Assembly seat, said in a statement Wednesday that he is cooperating with the investigation but denies any wrongdoing.

Dennis Hof, the owner of the famed Bunny Ranch brothel, has reportedly died at the age of 72.

According to TMZ, Hof was found unresponsive Tuesday morning at his Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada. Nye County Sheriff's Office confirmed the death via social media. Though an investigation continues, authorities said they do not suspect foul play.

REST IN PEACE DENNIS HOF!
