To prepare for winter, collect and compress Autumn Leaves to insulate the garden. Shredded leaves fill the nooks and crannies until the plants have died back for the season, then they get covered with a thick layer of leaves. This protects the garden beds and containers from the harsh winds of winter. Come spring, remove all the leaves to expose the soil to the warming sunlight.
