Bananiac speaks with Mark McMillon, the guitarist of the band Hawthorne Heights on the "Scream It Like You Mean It" tour with story of the year on the importance of a meat free diet. Mark has been a meat free vegetarian for about 7 years now and claims it has helped him stay healthy on the road touring with his bands. The catering at almost all the venues provide Mark with meat free options and are very accommodating to vegetarians & vegans. If someone as busy as Mark who is always on the go can eat a meat free diet, anyone can ;)

The best thing one can do for their healthy is eat as close to 100% whole food, plant based diet (meat free). A plant based diet not only prevents some of the biggest diseases like heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, cancer, and obesity, but also keeps you full of energy and vibrancy. The three fundamentals for sustaining a long and healthy life is getting enough water, sugar, and sleep DAILY! Once that is established, getting some sunshine and sport during the week will make you go even further. A plant-based diet consisting of at least 80% of calories from carbohydrates will give you the edge you need to reach your potential. Go Vegan; for the people, for the animals, for the planet.
