From June 1992 on Late Night to the last Late Show in May 2015, Matt Roberts had risen through the staff ranks from Intern to bottom rung of the Production Staff to Talent Researcher to Segment Producer to Producer and Writer to Supervising Producer/Writer to the show's highest positions as Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer.

Here are two of his early televised appearances:
1. June 16, 1992. Dave gives the new office receptionist intern a show quiz. It's Matt's first on-camera appearance on Late Night.

2. April 5, 1996. It's two-and-a-half years into Late Show's run as Marshall Sylver is invited to put staff members under hypnosis. Things go awry as both Biff Henderson and Matt take their hypnotic states to unforeseen levels.
