The Social Venture Pitch session at the 2011 Social Enterprise Conference featured emerging for-profit social entrepreneurs who use eight minutes to pitch their enterprise to a panel of impact investors and advisors to be considered for an investment of $250,000--500,000 by Jalia Ventures/Serious Change, LP. Impact investors and advisors included Melissa Cheong '09, principal, Imprint Capital Advisors; Cheryl Dorsey, president of Echoing Green; Ron Gonen '04, founder of RecycleBank and adjunct professor at Columbia Business School; Josh Mailman, advisor and investor of Serious Change, LP and cofounder of the Social Venture Network; and Natalia Oberti Noguera, founder and CEO of Pipeline Fellowship. Entrepreneurs included Chris Harvell '05, Founder and CEO of Dental Kidz; William Haughey, founder of Tegu; Miguel Lara, founder of MicroHealth; Gabriel Mandujano, founder of Wash Cycle Laundry; and Anna Stork, cofounder of LuminAID.
