Farmers in South Africa are echoeing fears expressed in President Trump's tweet while no land has yet been seized, there is worry the seizures could turn violent or cause a plummet in land value. South African president Cyril Ramaphosa stated earlier this week that land expropriation would begin by seizing state-owned, not privately owned land. Land remains a contested issue with black South Africans making up 80 percent of the population but own less than a quarter of the land.
