I'VE MOVED BACK INTO MY APARTMENT IN NEW YORK AND I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL STUDIO AT SCHOOL. It's going to be a great year!! This painting is of my boyfriend, who I'm now moving in with, and this was a quick 3-hr painting session. Since my flight back to NY was only about 15 days away, I wanted the painting to have as much time to dry as possible. This was the first time that I did an underpainting, and I actually really enjoyed painting the rouch sketch. However, overlaying the color on the red sepia was a bit tricky since the red tones kinda fucked with my eyes a bit at first. Next time I'll prob tone the saturation way the heck down for the underpainting so judging colors when I'm painting the final image isn't as difficult. Also, we were doing a show at a library near the beach, so that's why there was so much movement behind the canvas at first - and for the last hour, I completed the portrait at home. Next week, I will be uploading a tour of my new apartment and studio with some words about my classes! It'll be a short, sweet gift as a small "thank-you" for 2000 subs! I hope you guys are enjoying my content, and I look forward to creating more!
