About 13,700 or 80 percent of nannies registered with the Welfare Department nationwide have not attended or passed the government’s required Permata Basic Child Care Course (KAP). Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Doctor Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the figure which is out of the 16,873 registered nannies indicated the severe shortage of child-minders in the country.
