1st William Sewell China Central TV NSA-Edward Snowden Leak Scandal Interview. On China 24, broadcast from Beijing on June 6, 2013,  William Sewell, author of NonOfficial Asset: The Iran Affair, is asked about the breaking story of Edward Snowden leaking documents regarding NSA domestic data collection and surveillance programs of U.S. citizens. William Sewell is an ex-U.S. intelligence officer with decades of experience operating in the clandestine world and he knows timely info can save lives of operatives and civilians. At this point Snowden was in Hong Kong planning his next move to avoid being arrested by the U.S. Department of Justice and charged with Espionage.  

William Sewell, who worked for various U..S. intelligence agencies as a NonOfficial Asset for 30 years , talked about the leaks damaging the ability of the U.S. to negotiate with other countries because of the damage in trust, and this was before it was revealed that the NSA program was also picking the communiques of Allies in Western Europe and Asia.  Now the bad guys "know what we know and they can work around it, and that puts us in a bad situation."  

Sewell was also asked about public reaction and he indicated that it was a balance between security and privacy, and that any society will have to make that decision in this world of cyber-security and cyber snooping.  Dr. Teng Jianqun, Director for Center for Arms Control at China Institute, talked about the China Central government needing the address the issue as China was well known as the #1 hacker nation and their security was also at risk.
